Its been great so far but who’s going to go all the way?

P_Netherlands_IC_1 Its been great so far but whos going to go all the way?

*Don’t tell me you expected these lot to do so well!*

So the quarter finals are nearly upon us I’m watching the France vs Italy game and have been frustrated and disappointed with the quality on show tonight. Did these two teams really make it to the world cup final two years ago? So at this very second it looks like most of the favourites (except a dour French team) have made it through. The matches look like they will be as follows:

  • Croatia vs Turkey
  • Germany vs Portugal
  • Spain vs Italy
  • Holland vs Sweden/Russia

What a great soccer tournament its been so far, quick fluid attacking play combined with slick passing and some quality defending. England players take note!

Each one of the quarter final matches look too tight to call and at this stage the winner could any one of 6 as I can’t see the Swedes, Turks or Russians “doing a Greece”

Although Its hardly sticking my neck out I’m going to go for the Semi finals as follows:

  • Croatia vs Portugal
  • Spain vs Holland

  2. There is no way that Italy are going to lose to Spain! How many times have they messed up in the past?

    Also never discount the Germans!

  3. I’m going for a Turkey vs Russia Final!

  4. I couldn’t agree much more with your outcomes. I will even go as far as saying
    Holland v Portugal Final.

How is there no way Italy are going to lose? With Toni upfront Spains poor defence will have nothing to worry about, and there is no chance the battling/technically inept defensive midfield and defence can deal with the spanish front two, or Fabregas etc through balls.

  5. Well…. it’s a funny old game. Who would have thought the Russians would look so strong? I think they will take a lot to beat, and please, please, please don’t let the Turks win.

They have as much flair as a three legged milking stool. If they do win it will be a real injustice. They been lucky and only marginally better than the last champions.

    We shall see…

  6. Well it looks like your wish has come true as far as the Turks are concerned although I think they were very unlucky to lose against the Germans.

The Spanish on the other hand looked very good last night against Russia and never really looked like conceding let alone losing to a tired looking Russia.

Spain vs Germany, beauty vs beast. On form you’d go with the Spanish but this championship has been unpredictable and you can never count out the Germans. I’ve got a sneaky feeling this one might go to extra time.
